Gabrielle Lewis grew up in Herefordshire, Teesside and Shropshire, then read music at Reading University, where she graduated with a BA (Hons) in 1986. Since then she has trained and worked as a teacher of music, at Devonport High School for Girls in Plymouth. Then privately in addition to other work, she studied the piano from an early age and the organ from teenage years with Paul Derrett, John Longstaff, Kevin Bowyer and Graham Williams and gained the ALCM, LRSM and ARCO diplomas. At present she is the organist of St Anne’s Church, Gunnislake and teaches organ, piano, singing and flute privately. Previously she has been Director of Music at the Church of the Ascension, Crownhill, Plymouth and since living in Cornwall from 1986, has had a number of opportunities to perform, including recitals both locally and around the country.
