‘First Class Brass’ are a brass quintet from Truro, Cornwall. 1st Trumpet player Adam Delbridge-Smith will begin studying at the Royal Northern College of Music this September, whilst 2nd Trumpet player Merryn Rosie Cocking has recently finished her first year studying Music at Falmouth University. Katie Blackburn (Trombone) and Tom Finlay (French Horn) are currently students at Truro College, with aspirations of going on to study music in the future, while Tuba player David Coad plays for St Dennis Brass Band, who are currently in the Championship section. Although specialising in classical repertoire, the quartet thoroughly enjoy playing music from a variety of genres, from jazz to contemporary music. One of their most recent projects has been recording music for a theatrical production of Henry IV run alongside the Royal Shakespeare Company at the Minack Theatre. ‘First Class Brass’ were delighted to be invited to play for you this afternoon, and hope to provide a variety of music for all to enjoy.
