PLYMOUTH HISTORY FESTIVAL MAY 2013
ST ANDREW’S HERITAGE WEEK 18-24 MAY 2013
Visitors are always welcome and especially so during St Andrew’s Heritage Week. This special week commemorates the 70th Anniversary of the “GardenChurch” and, as part of the Plymouth History Festival, acclaims, “The History of St Andrew’s is the History of Plymouth”.
The church will be open daily from 9.00am to 4.00pm. Browse in the shop, enjoy refreshment, light lunches and cream teas at the “Coffee Corner” and view the “Garden Church” exhibition. on 18 May 2013 at at the Minster Church of St Andrew
Full peal of bells
A full peal of the bells of the Minster Church of St
Andrew. It is believed that there were bells in the tower in 1507 and that five bells were installed in 1594 to commemorate Sir Francis Drake’s circumnavigation of the world. The ring of ten bells survived the bombing during the Second World War and in 1996 funds were raised to restore the last remaining ring of bells within the City of Plymouth. on 19 May 2013 at 13:00 at the Minster Church of St Andrew
A guided tour of the Minster (45 mins)
