A Passion for Life

“A Passion for Life” is a nationwide initiative in which many churches across the country are teaming up to proclaim afresh the love and grace of God. Jesus himself said ‘I have come so that they may have life and have it to the full’ (John 10:10) and the gospel message is all about God reconnecting with his creation in the person of Jesus. It is him who offers those things – forgiveness, purpose, guidance, hope – which lead to a fulfilment of life. This fulfilment can only come from being in relationship with our creator. ‘A Passion for Life’ is therefore an apt slogan for a gospel-centred mission.

We are among several churches in Plymouth to be involved. Consequently, we will be hosting a number of small events in February and March which will share the gospel clearly and provide a safe space for people to try out church, gearing up to some centralised larger events just before Easter.

On Friday 12th February at 7:30pm we will be hosting a pub-style quiz in Costa Coffee (opposite the entrance to Drake Circus Mall).

On Saturday 6th March we will welcome many people into the church for an open day, “Get to know your Minster”. On this day, all are invited to find out more about the country’s newest minster. There will be bell-ringing, organ recitals, tours of the church, and some short informative talks.

And from 24th to 26th March two well-respected evangelistic speakers will be coming to Plymouth. Vaughan Roberts is the Rector of St. Ebbes’ Church in Oxford and he has spoken at numerous Christian conferences around the country and is known for his clarity in speaking. Pete Woodcock is minister of Fairfield Church in Kingston, London. They will be speaking at three evening events at Methodist Central Hall at 7:30pm on Wednesday 24th, Thursday 25th and Friday 27th March.

These are sure to be excellent and fun occasions, so please come along to these events and spread the word to friends, neighbours and colleagues.

Feel free to download flyers and posters and distribute them.
