Volunteers Needed

Devon and Cornwall Refugee Support Council urgently needs volunteers.  if you feel you would like to work, meet and get to know and understand people who have tragic backgrounds and need friendship from our host country, please contact Arnold Melhuish or Liz Hardinge.

Send a cow!

The Christian Charity, Send a Cow, will be holding an event in the Lower Abbey Hall.  Come and learn about the inspiration behind sending cows to Uganda 20 years ago and the journey the charity has taken to working in ten African countries, transforming thousands of lives of poor families each year through a programme of training, livestock and organic gardening techniques.  There will also be the opportunity for you to ask any questions you have and to find out how you can get involved in supporting the work of the charity.  Refreshments will be provided.

Street Pastors in Plymouth

To find out more about Street Pastors forms are available in the Office.  Street Pastors is starting in May but applications for training need to be in by 25th January.  For more details contact any of the clergy.

Friends of St Andrew’s Trip to Tyntesfield

The Friends are planning to arrange a visit to Tyntesfield, the National Trust Victorian jewel near Bristol.  this will be on Saturday 10th May and will include transport by coach.  The cost will be the entrance charge of £8.85 for adults (free to NT members)  and the cost of the coach, which will be approximately £12.00.  If you are interested, please put your name on the list at the Cross Aisle.  This is just to give us an idea of numbers.  Sally Pursell.

Evening Herald holiday tokens

Once again the Mothers’ Union will be collecting the Holiday tokens from the Evening Herald so that we can provide a holiday for those in need and unable to afford one.  Last year the MU helped over 60 families in the diocese to enjoy a holiday.  Token begin on 7th January and a distinctive box will be at the Cross Aisle.  Thank you.

St Andrew’s Prayer Focus

A time of prayer for the work of St Andrew’s is to be held in the church on Wednesday 9th January from 7.30pm - 10pm.  All are welcome to come for part or whole time.

Come and support the City Centre churches as they share the message of Easter with the city through prayer, music, drama, testimony and many fun activities.
